ANALISIS RANTAI PASOK KOMODITI COKLAT DI SULAWESI SELATAN
Abstract
national economy, especially as a major contributor to the country's income and foreign
exchange. The objective of this study is to identify cocoa potential and cocoa supply chain
in South Sulawesi. Descriptive research method was conducted using survey method.
Based on the research results, (1) South Sulawesi is the largest contributor to cocoa
production in Indonesia, providing 23.14 percent of national cocoa production and
covering an area of 217 thousand hectares. (2) The cocoa supply chain consists of
farmers, collectors, distributors, and industry. (3) Risks in the cocoa supply chain
include: (a) Price: Due to lack of access to specific information on cocoa prices, traders
set prices unilaterally. (b) Pest threats including cocoa blight, stem cancer, and aphids.
(c) Seasonal Risks: The rainy season can also cause fungal diseases on the stems that
damage cocoa pods. (d) Human Resource Risk: Community awareness on how to manage
cocoa properly and turn it into a good cocoa crop is low.
